If using SATA or SCSI drives, check that relevant switches and jumpers on the hard drive and backplane board are set correctly. DVD/CD drive activity indicator does not light. Do the following: · · Make sure the power and signal cables are properly installed. Check that relevant switches and jumpers on the drive are set correctly. 78 · · Check that drive is properly configured. 5 Troubleshooting Check that onboard IDE controller is enabled in the BIOS setup. DVD/CD tray cannot be ejected. Do the following: · Insert the tip of a paperclip into the small hole on the DVD/CD drive. Slowly pull the tray out from the drive until the tray is fully extended then remove the disc. DVD/CD drive cannot read a DVD/CD. Do the following: · · · · Make sure you are using the correct type of DVD/CD. Make sure the DVD/CD is properly seated in the drive. Make sure all cables are connected to the DVD/CD drive. Hard drives are not recognized. · · · · · Make sure the drive is not disabled in the BIOS setup. Make sure the drive is connected correctly and the power cable is plugged to the power supply.
