At a minimum, keep a hand in contact with the metal system housing to reduce the ESD effect. · Opening/Closing Your Aspire · Caution!Always turn off your computer and unplug it before opening the case. For more information on the complete system shut-down, refer to "Setting up your Aspire" on page 2. Removing the Left Panel Cover 1 2 3 Turn off your computer and unplug all cables. Place your computer on a flat, steady surface. Turn the thumbscrew counterclockwise with your fingers to release the side panel. You will need them when replacing the side panel. · 24 4 Gently push the computer's side panel slightly backward (a), then pull it upward to remove it from the chassis (b). 25 Replacing the Left Panel Cover After you install the system components into the housing, you must replace the left panel cover. 1 2 Align the side panel to the housing frame (a), gently push it in (b), then slide it forward into place (c).
