[. . . ] Insert the new hard disk into the frame and secure it with drive rails. Reattach all cables to the new hard disk. Note: Make sure that the other ends of the disk cables are securely connected to their corresponding connectors on the mainboard. 6 7 Reinstall the metal bracket frame to the housing. Replace the computer cover. 59 Installing an expansion card To install an expansion card: 1 2 3 Remove the computer cover. Locate an empty PCI Express or PCI slot on the mainboard. Remove the bracket lock that holds the bracket to the computer. Save the lock. 4 5 6 7 Pull out the bracket on the housing opposite the selected empty slot. Remove the expansion card from its protective packaging. Align the card in the empty bracket and then insert it into the slot. Make sure that the card is properly seated. Secure the card to your computer with the bracket lock you removed earlier. 8 Replace the computer cover. When you turn on the computer, BIOS automatically detects and assigns resources to the newly installed devices. 60 5 Upgrading your computer Replacing the Veriton 6800/7800's hard disk Follow these steps to replace your computer's hard disk: 1 2 Remove the side panel. Detach the power and hard disk cables from the hard disk(a). Detach the hard disk from the drive frame (b). 3 Insert the new hard disk into the frame (a). Connect the power and hard disk cables to the new hard disk (b). Note: Make sure that the other ends of the disk cables are securely connected to their corresponding connectors on the mainboard. See "To replace the side panel" on page 53. 61 Installing an expansion card To install an expansion card: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Remove the side panel (see page 52). Locate an empty PCI Express or PCI slot on the mainboard. Remove the lock that holds the bracket to the computer. Pull out the bracket on the housing opposite the selected empty slot. Remove the expansion card from its protective packaging. Align the card with the empty bracket and then insert it into the slot. Make sure that the card is properly seated. Secure the card to your computer with the bracket lock you removed earlier. [. . . ] Do not expose the computer to temperatures below 0 ºC (32 ºF), or above 40 ºC (104 ºF). Do not subject the computer to magnetic fields. Do not expose the computer to rain or moisture. Do not subject the computer to heavy shock or vibration. [. . . ]
