Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Insert the cartridge as shown, lining up the tube with the mark on the reservoir. Turn the cartridge to the right as far as it will go. Replace the reservoir by pushing it right into its housing. Set the iron thermostat dial between the 2 and 3 dot settings. [. . . ] Choosing your water You can use either tap water or distilled water for irons. Depending upon the limescale level of your tap water and upon your weekly ironing load (average time : 2/3 hours), it can be more economical to use distilled water for irons (not for car batteries). In this case, your cartridge should last up to 1 year (depending on the amount of your ironing and on the quantity of steam you ask for). Dip the test strip supplied into tap water for 1 second. Remove, shake it for a few seconds and wait for the resultant colour change (approximately 1 minute). 1 or 1 1/2 mauve squares : you can use tap water. 2 or more mauve squares : we advise you to use distilled water for irons. Remove the water tank from its housing by pulling it towards you. Fill the water reservoir up to the maximum level. Never fill the reservoir with hot water. Never add products containing alcohol or essences (perfume, eau de Cologne, lavender essence…) to the water. € You should turn the steam output dial to the middle setting when - the unit is used for the first time, - the water tank has been refilled, - the anti-scale cartridge has just been changed. ECO FUNCTION It is recommended that you use the ECO function when the garments are only slightly creased, have come out of a tumble dryer and whenever you think suitable. In this way you will be obtaining maximum economy in the use of water and electricity, up to 50% in electricity and 70% in water. To use the Eco mode, press the button marked e. The illuminated pilot light will confirm that this mode is operational. Pull out the electric cable as far as you need. - 27 - 17 Do not pull it out further than indicated by the coloured band on the cable. Plug the power cable into an earthed socket. The Power On pilot light comes on to show that the appliance is switched on. The generator heating pilot light comes on. Turn the steam output dial to the middle setting. [. . . ] Unplug the power cable and let your appliance cool. Use the auto-rewind to store away the electric cable. Ensure that the iron rest is in the ‘down’ position. To avoid any risk of burning make sure that the locking strap is pulled out fully before you place a hot iron on the iron rest prior to storage. [. . . ]
