Original keypads have a 93C46 chip in location U1. The SK1L keypad needs to have its keypad address and its text messages programmed. These are set to default values at the factory. This programming shows the locations and range of data that each memory location will accept. The keypad map (Figure 1) shows which keys correspond to the Alpha-Numeric characters used in text programming. 5) While in "data" mode for locations 0 or 1, enter numbers using the number keys.
