The reader operates as a Structured Query Language (SQL) server, providing tag data in response to requests. A separate software application, such as the Sensormatic® Device Commander, may be used to direct its operation and provide a user interface. The reader supports UHF antennas as well as multiple configurations of UHF antenna ports. The Agile 2 Reader transfers the RFID data to a remote computer through a wired 10/100 or optional wireless Ethernet connection.
