[. . . ] Alcatel-Lucent5060IPBorderController­4(IBC-4) The AlcatelLucent 5060 IP Border Controller (IBC4) delivers industryleading performance and security capabilities on a 4U ATCA platform. [. . . ] The 5060 IBC-4 supports SBC functionality and features, including security, far- and near-end firewall/Network Address Translation (FW/NAT) traversal, IPv4/IPv6 interworking, admission control, session routing, overload protection, interoperability with heterogeneous endpoints, QoS and regulatory compliance. It supports voice, fax, video and multimedia sessions, including video calling, video sharing, and video mail as well as Message Session Relay Protocol (MSRP) based data sessions. The 5060 IBC-4 also enables regulatory compliance for carriers by supporting emergency service (for example, E911), Government Emergency Telecommunication Services (GETS), and Lawful Interception (for example, CALEA) requirements. The 5060 IBC-4 employs ATCA as the basis for a carrier-grade, high availability architecture that ensures all sessions survive in the case of a single point of failure. The 5060 IBC-4 also supports a geo-redundancy architecture that enables carriers to provide uninterrupted services in the case of a natural disaster or site failure.
