[. . . ] For each unit, this report summarizes all the relevant mileage data and calculates weight distance taxes using the appropriate tax rates and calculations for each state that imposes such a tax. NOTE: PC*MILER|FuelTax now gives you the option to select a month and close it when you generate this report using the Close Month button that becomes active when you select the Weight Distance Report in the Report Selection dialog. All trips filed during a closed month will be marked in the database as filed for weight/distance, and will be removed from the section of the Late Data Report titled "Trips that were not filed for the Weight/Distance report". To close a month, click the Close Month button (this button is grayed out until you select the Weight/Distance report). Then select a month in the prompt that appears, and click OK. 64 PC*MILER|FuelTax User's Guide Currently Oregon, New York, New Mexico, Kentucky, and Idaho impose weightdistance/tonne-mile taxes. These tax rates are not listed in the regular tax rate table, but can be viewed in this report. This report can be used as a tax calculation worksheet. IMPORTANT NOTE: PC*MILER|FuelTax generates Weight Distance Tax Calculations based on the current tax code for each of the mileage use tax states. Rates can vary depending on the weight of the unit, the number of axles, and the calculation method chosen. You can also get credit for empty and toll miles driven. PC*MILER|FuelTax does not know what you should be paying. You need to determine what method and what rate you should be paying and set up your Units and Jurisdiction Information accordingly.
