[. . . ] Damage Requiring Service -- The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when: · The power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged. · Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance. · The appliance has been exposed to rain. · The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance. · The appliance has been dropped or the enclosure damaged. Designed like no other speaker system in the world, the patented Altec Lansing speaker system lets you hear digital audio sound with your computer. You can plug these computer speaker systems into a PC audio card and vastly enhance any business presentation, training, education or advertising, music or video p r o d u c t i o n with the same level of digital audio quality you are used to hearing from a music CD. These speaker systems can be used with any multimedia home computer, CD player or video interactive game to provide a total intelligent audio solution which is practical and affordable. Power On/Off: Rotate the volume control clockwise to turn power on and counter-clockwise to turn power off. A power indicator on the base of the right satellite will glow to show power is on. NOTE: The 3182 LF SPEAKER must be installed close to an AC Power Socket so that the power cord plug can be easily pulled out to disconnect the power. Volume Up/Down: Turn the volume control clockwise to increase volume and counter clockwise to decrease volume. Figure 1 Description The 3182 LF SPEAKER is an amplified speaker system featuring a subwoofer for extended low frequency response. The system is especially designed for multimedia computer near field monitoring. A patented control circuit automatically boosts bass at low volume to maintain musical sound "realism". The satellite speakers are magnetically shielded to prevent color distortion on video displays. [. . . ] However, the subwoofer is not magnetically shielded and should not be placed in close proximity to a computer monitor or television. When the 3182 LF SPEAKER is not used with a computer, it can serve as an amplified speaker system for CD players, cassette players and various video/audio sources with excellent results. Use of Controls (See Figure 1) Set Up Instructions (See Figure 2) Do not insert the AC power plug into the wall outlet until all connections are made. The only requirement to set up the 3182 LF SPEAKER is to insert the DIN connector into the input marked RIGHT SPEAKER and to insert the audio input plug into the computer audio output. [. . . ]
