Altec Lansing has manufactured high frequency compression drivers since the early 1940's.  [. . . ] The early 604's and all 800 series drivers are an Alnico motor (above left). The 604-8K and the 900 series drivers are a ceramic motor (above right). Once there were three types of diaphragm assemblies available: Aluminum,  Symbiotik,  and Pascalite.
