A range of cards is available to choose from ­ the recipient will receive the card in full colour on a PC, or in shades of blue on an e-m@iler. The cost of greetings cards will be displayed on the screen before you select a card. Sending a card !FAST TRACK: Press SERVICES, select fun / greetings cards, select required card, type in email address and message, press EMAIL. 1. Press SERVICES and select the option number for FUN / GREETINGS CARDS. You will see the greetings cards cost displayed. 2. Select GREETINGS CARDS so that the following display appears (see example right): Select the required card by pressing 1 ­ 9 (or 0 for more). The following display will appear: 3. If you've set up two or more email users, then before you receive this display you'll be asked to select a user. Type in the email address you wish to send this card to (or see note* below). & *Note ­ to send the card to an email address you've previously stored, press ADDRESS BOOK, start typing in the name, then use U D and press ENTER to insert the required email address in the To: box. Note, if you want to see how the card will appear to the recipient, you can send it to your own email address. 5. Move the cursor down to the message area of the display, then type in the message: Note the message itself can be up to 80 characters long (5 lines maximum). The number of characters you've typed is displayed at the top right, for example l66/80l. following display will appear (right): The If you don't see the display: Dialling for email, then the email address you've entered is not valid. Go back to step 4. After a while, the above message (Dialling for email) will change to Checking email, then to Sending / Collecting email, before returning to the standby display showing the date and time. Note, the card will take about 15 minutes to be delivered. The text that appears on the finished card will be as you typed it on the screen (note you can press ENTER to start a new line). - 100 - Fax At the recipient's fax machine, the fax will be printed out (preceded by cover text containing your name and address), for example: 268 Princes Gate Chelmsford Essex CM1 8QQ smudger@amserve. com To: From: Subject: Date: Dear Jim, I just bought this new emailer and it's absolutely brilliant. As you can see, it can even send email messages to your old fax machine. Do yourself a favour Jim, get one of these emailers and move into the 21st century. (Note the date will be printed on the fax automatically ­ you don't have to type it in. ) Unsent messages If a fax message cannot be sent, it may be because: somebody picked up the phone (or an extension) while sending was in progress (note that priority is always given to telephone calls), or the recipient's fax machine was engaged or did not answer ­ it may have been switched-off or out of paper. In either case you will need to re-send the message. To do this, press READ (on the e-m@iler), highlight the unsent fax (which is marked or ), then press FAX to re-send. - 101 - Fax Forwarding a fax !FAST TRACK: Display message, press FAX, type in recipient and fax number, press FAX again. A previously sent fax or email message can be forwarded (sent on to another fax number), as follows: 1. Display the message you wish to forward. Press FAX so that display top line reads COMPOSE FAX. Type in the name of the person to whom you wish to send this message (or see note* below. & *Note ­ to send the message to a person whose fax number you've previously stored, press ADDRESS BOOK, start typing in the name, then use U D and press ENTER to insert the name in the To: box. If you're using a name from the Address Book, go straight to step 5. If the fax number isn't stored in the Address Book, then move the cursor into the Fax No: box and type in the telephone number of the fax machine.
