It may take some time to learn to judge the distance of traffic behind accurately. WARNING CAUTION 32 use and maintenance Atlantic 125/250 Release the brake lever and accelerate, by turning the throttle twistgrip slightly; the vehicle will start moving. Do not move off abruptly after starting the engine from cold. Ride at low speed until covering several kilometres. RUNNING-IN WARNING Do not flip the throttle open abruptly After covering the first 1000 km (625 mi), perform the checks listed in the "post running-in" column of the "PERIODIC MAINTENANCE CHART" (see pages 39-43). This will allow the brake pad lining to wear in properly rubbing on the brake discs. 0-500 km (0-312 mi) Never exceed 80% of top speed during the first 500 km (312 mi). After the first 1000 km (625 mi), progresively increase speed until reaching max. performance. Park the vehicle on firm and level ground to prevent it falling over. Do not lean the vehicle against walls and do not lay it down on the ground. Make sure that the vehicle, and in particular hot vehicle components, may not put the safety of persons and children at risk. Do not leave the vehicle unattended with the engine running or with the key inserted into the ignition switch. Do not sit on the vehicle when the stand is down.
