Do not shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS to prevent system boot failure!

The utility returns to the DOS prompt after the BIOS update process is completed. Reboot the system from the hard disk drive.

ASUSCrashFreeBIOS3utility
The ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 is an auto recovery tool that allows you to restore the BIOS file when it fails or gets corrupted during the updating process. You can update a corrupted BIOS file using the motherboard support CD, the USB flash disk, or the floppy disk that contains the updated BIOS file.
· · Prepare the motherboard support CD, the USB flash disk, or the floppy disk containing the updated motherboard BIOS before using this utility. Make sure that you rename the original or updated BIOS file in the floppy disk or the USB flash disk to P5BV-ESASV-ESAS. ROM.
Recovering the BIOS from the USB flash disk
To recover the BIOS from the USB flash disk: 1. Insert the USB flash disk that contains BIOS file to the USB port. The utility will automatically checks the devices for the BIOS file when found, the utility reads the BIOS file and starts flashing the corrupted BIOS file. Restart the system after the utility completes the updating process.

Only the USB flash disk with FAT 32/16 format and single partition can support ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3. The device size should be smaller than 8GB. The ASUS Update utility is copied to your system.
Quit all Windows® applications before you update the BIOS using this utility.

To update the BIOS through the Internet: . Launch the ASUS Update utility from the Windows® desktop by clicking Start. >Programs>ASUS>ASUSUpdate>ASUSUpdate. The ASUS Update main window appears.

Select UpdateBIOSfrom theInternet option from the drop-down menu, then click Next.

Select the ASUS FTP site nearest you to avoid network traffic, or clickAutoSelect. ClickNext.

From the FTP site, select the BIOS version that you wish to download. Follow the screen instructions to complete the update process.
The ASUS Update utility is capable of updating itself through the Internet. Always update the utility to avail all its features.
Updating the BIOS through a BIOS file
To update the BIOS through a BIOS file: . Launch the ASUS Update utility from the Windows® desktop by clicking Start > Programs > ASUS > ASUSUpdate > ASUSUpdate. Select Update BIOS from a file option from the drop-down menu, then click Next.

Locate the BIOS file from the Open window, then click Open.
