Save only the updated BIOS file in the floppy disk to avoid loading the wrong BIOS file. 2. 5. Copy the AwardBIOS Flash Utility (awdflash. exe) from the Software folder of the support CD to the floppy disk with the latest BIOS file. Boot the system in DOS mode using the bootable floppy disk you created earlier. When the A:> appears, replace the bootable floppy disk with the floppy disk containing the new BIOS file and the Award BIOS Flash Utility. At the prompt, type awdflash then press <Enter>. Press <N> when the utility prompts you to save the current BIOS file. The utility verifies the BIOS file in the floppy disk and starts flashing the BIOS file. ASUS P5ND2 2-5 2. . 4 ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2 utility The ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2 is an auto recovery tool that allows you to restore the BIOS file when it fails or gets corrupted during the updating process. You can update a corrupted BIOS file using the motherboard support CD or the floppy disk that contains the updated BIOS file. Prepare the motherboard support CD or the floppy disk containing the updated motherboard BIOS before using this utility. Recovering the BIOS from the support CD To recover the BIOS from the support CD: . [. . . ] Select Yes to save changes and exit. If you attempt to exit the Setup program without saving your changes, the program prompts you with a message asking if you want to save your changes before exiting. Press <Enter> to save the changes while exiting. Exit & Discard Changes Select this option only if you do not want to save the changes that you made to the Setup program.
