ASUS P8B-M series 4-9 4. 3 Main menu When you enter the BIOS Setup program, the Main menu screen appears. The Main menu provides you an overview of the basic system information, and allows you to set the system date, time, language, and security settings. Event Logs Advanced Monitor Boot Tool Exit Set Setup Administrator Password Allows you to set the system date. Allows you to set the system time. The Security menu items allow you to change the system security settings. Main Password Description If ONLY the Administrator's password is set, then this only limits access to Setup and is only asked for when entering Setup If ONLY the User's password is set, then this is a power on password and must be entered to boot or enter Setup. See section 2. 6 Jumpers for information on how to erase the RTC RAM. The Administrator or User Password items on top of the screen show the default Not Installed. After you set a password, these items show Installed. 4-10 Chapter 4: BIOS setup Administrator Password If you have set an administrator password, we recommend that you enter the administrator password for accessing the system. Otherwise, you might be able to see or change only selected fields in the BIOS setup program. To set an administrator password: 1. 2. 3. 1. 2. 3. 4. To clear the administrator password, follow the same steps as in changing an administrator password, but press <Enter> when prompted to create/confirm the password. After you clear the password, the Administrator Password item on top of the screen shows Not Installed. User Password If you have set a user password, you must enter the user password for accessing the system. The User Password item on top of the screen shows the default Not Installed. Click the ASPEED AST2050 Display Driver to begin installation. 4. Click Next to start the installation. 6-20 Chapter 6: Driver installation 5. Toggle I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next to continue. 6. Enter the user information and click Next to continue. 7. Select a setup type and click Next to continue. When the installation completes, click Finish to restart your computer before using the program. 6-22 Chapter 6: Driver installation 6. 5  Management applications and utilities installation The support DVD that came with the motherboard package contains the drivers, management applications, and utilities that you can install to avail all motherboard features. The contents of the support DVD are subject to change at any time without notice. Visit the ASUS website (www. asus. com) for updates. 6. 5. 1 Running the support DVD Place the support DVD to the optical drive. The DVD automatically displays the Drivers menu if Autorun is enabled in your computer. If Autorun is NOT enabled in your computer, browse the contents of the support DVD to locate the file ASSETUP. EXE from the BIN folder. Double-click the ASSETUP. EXE to run the support DVD. 6. 5. 2 Drivers menu The Drivers menu shows the available device drivers if the system detects installed devices.
