You can update a corrupted BIOS file using the motherboard support CD or the floppy disk that contains the updated BIOS file. · · Prepare the motherboard support CD or the floppy disk containing the updated motherboard BIOS before using this utility. Make sure that you rename the original or updated BIOS file in the floppy disk to P 5 A D 2 E B . R O M M. Recovering the BIOS from a floppy disk To recover the BIOS from a floppy disk: 1. Insert the floppy disk with the original or updated BIOS file to the floppy disk drive. The ASUS Update utility allows you to: · Save the current BIOS file · Download the latest BIOS file from the Internet · Update the BIOS from an updated BIOS file · Update the BIOS directly from the Internet, and · View the BIOS version information. This utility is available in the support CD that comes with the motherboard package. ASUS Update requires an Internet connection either through a network or an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
