Connect a 40-pin IDE cable to the IDE connector at the back of the drive. 7. Connect a 4-pin power plug from the power supply unit to the power connector at the back of the drive. Follow steps 1 to 5 of the previous section. Connect one end of the 7-pin SATA cable to the SATA connector at the back of the drive then connect the other end to a SATA connector on the motherboard.
