Manual abstract: user guide AUDIO ANALOGUE ARIA 2.0

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Dear Audiophile, Congratulations and thank you for choosing Aria phono preamplifier. You're now the owner of a unit that establishes a new reference in the category of high-quality and high-versatility stereophonic products. aria provides circuital solutions with no compromises and features capable to satisfy advanced users' demands. We built our phono preamplifier with fully adjustable interface parameters, high-performance circuits with wide bandwidth and low noise, separated circuit sections for each channel, linear analogical power supply with the famous virtual battery circuit that insulates circuit signals from the main power, three different stabilizing sections and high-quality passive components. [. . . ] Connect the ground cable of your record player here to reduce background noise. You may also use this connector to connect Aria to the amplifier ground connector to reduce background noise. In MC mode, total gain may be varied from 93dB to 52, 5dB so as to adapt the unit to low output MC cartridges. This is possible connecting the unit to an amplifier (pre-pre MC) whose gain has to be set according to Chart C Dip switches showing MC stadium only. They are operative only when the unit is in MC mode (high gain). Set these switches to obtain the desired gain according to Chart C. Set these switches to obtain the load resistance required by the MC cartridge according to Chart A. in general , the best load resistance is indicated in the cartridge parameters. If the out resistance of the cartridge is indicated, you'd better set Aria in resistance at about ten times the previous value. Set these switches to obtain the load capacity required by the MM cartridge according to Chart B. If this value is not indicated or the indicated value produces a too lifeless or brilliant sound, try to set the best value yourself. The package should contain: -Aria preamplifier -Power adapter -Instruction manual If one of the items listed above is missing, please contact your Audio Analogue retailer. After extracting the smallest items from the package, pull out the unit carefully. Where to place Aria Aria is built to amplify even the feeblest sound and is therefore capable to detect signals coming from other units. We suggest you to place Aria at least at 30/50cm away from units that may disturb it, such as TV sets, power adapters and amplifiers. You should also leave at least 5cm around and above the unit and avoid placing it close to heat sources (radiators, heaters, amplifiers, TV sets) to ensure proper ventilation. Plugging and connecting Aria Before connecting Aria to an amplifier/preamplifier, please be sure that they're both unplugged from wall outlets. First of all, set MM/MC switch and the other configuration switches according your cartridges parameters. As a second step, connect Aria out to the desired line in of your amplifier/preamplifier and your record player out to Aria in. Please use only high-quality cables with gold-plated connectors. As a third step, connect the power adapter to Aria power in. at last , connect the adapter to the main power. [. . . ] In the first column of the hart you find 1, 3, which corresponds to 2dB. The needed gain is then equal to 40dB + 2dB = 42dB. Checking the closest value in Chart C, you notice that there is no corresponding value because Aria cannot manage such a low tension. 53dB is too high and using it will cause saturation in the MM stadium and excessive noise. [. . . ]
