[. . . ] Dear Audiophile, Congratulations and thank you for choosing Maestro Settanta. You're now the owner of a unit that establishes a new reference in the category of high-quality and high-versatility stereophonic products. maestro Settanta provides circuital solutions with no compromises and features capable to satisfy advanced users' demands. We built our integrated amplifier with high-performance circuits, discrete components, function-based and channel-based circuit sections, PC and house-automation systems connection. [. . . ] 1 instruction manual If one of the items listed above is missing, please contact your Audio Analogue retailer. After extracting the smallest items from the package, pull out the unit carefully. Where to place Maestro Settanta Maestro Settanta is a complex unit that may generate a large quantity of heat. please locate the unit in a well-ventilated place. In particular, you should leave at least 5cm around and above the unit and avoid placing it close to heat sources (radiators, heaters, amplifiers, television sets). Plugging and connecting Maestro Settanta Before connecting Maestro Settanta to a source, please be sure that they're both unplugged from wall outlets. First of all, connect the sources to the Maestro Settanta inputs you want to use. Please use only high-quality cables with gold/rhodium-plated connectors. As the second step, connect Maestro Settanta outputs to the speakers cable or its pre-output to the amplifier inputs. At last, plug the power cord into the Maestro Settanta inlet and into the wall outlet. A) Connection with one source Balanced Input: example Maestro CD 192/24. Powering up Maestro Settanta Plug the Maestro Settanta into the power outlet and switch on the main power supply switch placed in the rear of the unit. the unit automatically enters in the STANDBY mode. When the "STBY" button on the remote controller is pressed or a knob on the front panel is turned, the amplifier turns on and a presentation message is shown on the display, followed by the indication of the amplifier status. If nothing happens, please refer to the troubleshooting section of the present manual. Even if it is safe to turn the unit off unplugging it from the outlet when unused for long periods of time or during lightning and electric storms, it is possible to leave it plugged when using it daily. To this purpose, the standby reduces power consumption and minimizes damage risks. When unplugging the unit, setup configuration is kept in the unit memory. Note: if you are using the Maestro Settanta pre-out to drive a power amplifier or a subwoofer, turn on the Maestro Settanta first and then turn on the equipment connected to the pre-out in order to avoid any noise or bump in the speakers. Notes on Maestro Settanta power plugging Maestro Settanta has to be plugged to the electric installation grounding link to guarantee user's safety and maximize sound quality. Actually, the grounding link is the way to eliminate noise and dispersion: that's why the power cord has the grounding prong. It is preferable not to interrupt grounding link (for example, with a two-prong adapter) unless this operation is necessary to avoid further noise and only when Maestro Settanta is hooked up to a grounded amplifier. [. . . ] The controls on the front panel and on the remote controller allow to access to the most used functions but not to the configuration parameters. To customize the unit configuration, you have to enter the set-up just pressing the "SET" button on the remote controller. Set-up navigation Due to the reduced size of the display, only one option at a time is shown. Use the remote controller to navigate through the different options and choose the desired one and also to modify the parameters value. [. . . ]
