Under ideal conditions (no obstacles between the handsets) the handsets will transmit up to 3 km. [. . . ] Press and hold PTT (Push To Talk) while you speak. If there is no answer, send a ringer signal using CALL. English Optional A Pack Headset The headset socket located next to the aerial is labelled (SPK/MIC). When connecting a headset from the optional A Pack, use the PTT button on the cable to talk. Please note! 8 7 If the handsets are unable to communicate it may be that you are using different channels, the batteries are running low or there is too great a distance between the handsets. The call button will only operate once in any 60 second cycle. In other words after the call button has been operated it will not work again until 1 minute later. Monitor function If the signal is weak, press and hold MON to listen for any incoming signals. Please note! The headset ringer signal and headset volume may initially be very loud. Adjust the volume control immediately you connect the headset. Charging Warning!When charging never use ordinary (nonrechargeable) batteries in the handset, since this will ruin the equipment.
