Again, closing the hood, trunk, or doors will correct the problem and you do not need to disarm the system to make the correction. Turn off the engine, exit the vehicle, close and lock all doors, hood, and trunk. [. . . ] Since the system is programmed for passive arming, it will begin to re-arm until a door is opened. Opening the door will suspend the passive arming cycle. INTRUSION WARNING SIGNALS: The system will inform you if an intrusion attempt has occurred while you were away from the vehicle. These intrusion warning indicators are stored in the system's memory, and will only be erased from memory when the ignition key is turned on. VALET / SYSTEM OVERRIDE SWITCH: The "Valet" switch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, eliminating the need to hand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics. When the system is in valet mode, all alarm functions are bypassed, however, the remote panic feature and remote door locks (optional) will remain operational. Enter the vehicle and turn the ignition key to the "on" position. Press and hold the valet push-button switch for 5 seconds until the dash mounted LED turns on solid. The LED will remain on as long as the system is in the valet mode. To return to normal operation, with the ignition switch on, press and release the valet push-button switch one time. The LED will turn off indicating the unit has been returned to the normal mode of operation. In the event you lose your keychain transmitter, or if the transmitter fails to disarm the system, the valet switch can be used as a system override switch. Open the car door (the alarm will sound). Turn the ignition key on, and press and hold the valet switch on. The Page 3 128-6461 3 of 5 alarm will stop sounding, and the vehicle can now be started.
