Press m The -1 indicator will light as the call is placed. 16 911 Emergency Call (NAM Option) This feature permits you to place an emergency call (911) even if your telephone unit has been set to the Lock Mode or Call Restricted Mode. Enter the emergency call number (911); ~~~~[~~ ("911"is not indicated, but the -1 indicator will light. ) 2. Press /SNDI , the 1-1 indicator will light. (The -1 indicator will go out. ) Operation in Call Restriction Mode The operation and display are the same as in the normal mode. 1) Locked 2) Automatic Horn Alert 3) Automatic Calls in Absence Indicator 4) Automatic Answer Fax Data 5) Silent Incoming Calls 4. If the Automatic Answering is activated when the unit is powered up, vA. Ans will appear on the readout for 5 seconds. To Mute a Phone Conversation IIwill appear Press -1, then key q on the readout. Then the transmit audio will be muted and the receive audio will be heard from the loudspeaker. You may converse privately with a passenger during a call with the handset on or off the cradle. To return to normal conversation, press vl , then key q again or lift the handset. Mute is reset when call is terminated. Silent Incoming Calls This feature alerts you visually of an incoming call by flashing /CALL/ on the readout instead of hearing the Alert Tone. Press lftCLl , key q appear on the readout. The following two features will make it easier to send in DTMF codes. Note: When you use this feature with a secret number, the number must be previously stored in a memory address. (Refer to "To Store the Secret Number". ) . To Exit C;au fCestrlctlon rrogramming Mode Press v] , then CLR/ Note(l): When in restricted mode 4 and 5, number storage into the memory will not be permitted. Note(Z): In the restricted mode, a short beep tone will be heard to inform you of the improper operation, and the word -1 will be shown on the readout. Touch ToneTM from Memory . DTMF signaling by repertory dialing is available while engaged in a telephone conversation. Press p/ ml, then enter the repertory memory address (01 through 99). The last 10 digits of the number will appear on the readout. Note: However, if the memory address entered has been set as a secret memory, / ]s/E\c/R]E/T~ / will be displayed on the readout instead of the number. Then DTMF signaling will be placed and the DTMF tone can be monitored through the loudspeaker. Note: Continuous DTMF from keypad can be manually dialed as well to access answering machines when engaged in a telephone call. HANDS-FREEOPERATION (NAM OPTION) This feature permits you to engage in a conversation without lifting the handset. After receiving a call (press m to answer), conduct the conversation via the hands-free microphone with the handset on the cradle. Turn off the radio or stereo and close the car windows. [. . . ] 2) When the Automatic Horn Alert is set. 3) When the Auto Answer Fax Data is set. This feature is deactivated in the folowing cases: 1) By turning the ignition to on or accessory position.
