Improper use of the appliance can, however, present a risk of both personal injury and material damage. To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the appliance, read these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. [. . . ] Instead extinguish the flames using a suitable fire blanket, damp towel or similar to smother the flames. For added protection, it is advisable to use heat-resistant pot holders or gloves when using the appliance. Do not let them get damp or wet, as this causes heat to transfer through the material more quickly with the risk of burning yourself. Do not use the appliance as a resting place for anything else. This could lead to a danger of the article beginning to melt or catching fire, if residual heat were still present or if the appliance was switched on by mistake. This could be a fire hazard if the appliance was switched on by mistake. Clean the lava rocks regularly and replace them when necessary. Rocks which are saturated catch fire easily. The grill trough and the lava rock container should be cleaned after each use to keep them free of oil and fat. 7 Warning and Safety instructions Appliance faults In the event of damage or a defect, switch off the appliance immediately.
