Balance/Fade ("BAL/FADE") Adjust balance from L9 (all the way left) using << to R9 (all the way right) using >>. Once tuning is complete, radio display sequence follows. Last Station Memory Each FM bank and AM band has its own last station memory which holds last-tuned frequency for that band or bank irrespective of whether that frequency is stored into a preset. When in FM radio mode, press of FM advances to next FM band, FM1, FM2, or FM3/FMT. Cassette Direction/Program Selection "TAPE 1" indicates top side of tape is in play; "TAPE 2", bottom side. Cassette Fast Wind Press << to activate fast rewind ("FAST REW") or >> to activate fast forward, ("FAST FWD"). Super-Cassette Program Search Press /\ or V once for each track you wish to advance or go back. If V is pressed more times than current track value, tape will fast-rewind and begin play at first track. If /\ is pressed more times than there are tracks, tape will advance to end of tape, autoreverse and begin play. Radio Monitor Radio can be heard during tape winding modes (FF, FR, Tape Scan, Track Repeat, Cassette Program Search and Blank Skip). 16
Tape Track Repeat To play currently-selected track repeatedly, press RPT. While automatically rewinding to beginning of track, "FAST REW" appears. If radio monitor feature is activated, the radio monitor is heard while advancing to next track, and preset frequencies for most recently heard band are available. Unit continuously scans until SCA, SRC, FM, AM , EJECT, or MENU is pressed. 17
Pinch Roller Release During tape pause, or during change to another source, or during power off, unit's pinch feature automatically activates, protecting tape and tape head. (Names can be assigned to any frequency, preset or not. ) If you try to enter more than 30 names, "**FULL**" appears. Enter Station Name Access mode by pressing << or >> button.
