When the controller is at a medium setting, the temperature drops to approx. A higher setting lowers the temperature in the refrigerator and freezer compart ments. We recommend: S for short term storage of food: low controller setting (energy saving mode) S for long term storage of food: medium controller setting S set a high controller setting only temporarily if: door is opened frequently, large amounts of food are placed in the refrigerator compartment. If the ambient temperature drops below the permitted temperature limit, the freezer compartment may become too warm. The frozen food may thaw in extreme cases. Appliances which feature an ambient temperature switch can run at an ambient temperature of +16 °C to +10 °C when this switch is on. The light inside the appliance continues glowing at a reduced luminosity.
