Operation
Before connecting the unit to the mains confirm that the lamp and cover glass are securely fitted, particularly before first use or after transporting the unit. [. . . ] · Low noise cooling fan (not all models - see specifications for details). · Lamp On/Off switch fitted on rear moulding · Adjustable stand bracket. · Bowens `S' type accessory adaptor.
Reflector/Accessory System
The unit comes fitted with a fixed reflector attached to the body with four thumbscrews. An `S' Type adaptor is available which is compatible with all Bowens accessories/reflectors.
Safety Notes
· The Hot-Lite must not be used in an environment where moisture or flammable vapour is likely to come in contact wit the unit. A fire hazard exists if flammable materials are placed in close proximity to the lamp when in use. · Do not onstruct the airflow around the unit and keep all vents clear at all times. · Never operate without the cover glass fitted. · Disconnect from mains and allow to cool before fitting/removing accessories or changing fuse/lamp. · A 20mm fuse mounted on rear panel provides circuit protection for the lamp. Never replace with a fuse of a different type or rating. · Avoid placing cables where they can be tripped over. Protect from heavy, sharp or hot objects. Damaged cables must be replaced immediately.
Lamp Replacement
Before atempting to replace the lamp, switch off the unit and unplug from the mains. This is particulary important if the lamp glass is broken. Wait a few minutes for the lamp to cool. Remove the glass dome by pulling it straight off over the spring clips, do not twist. [. . . ] Avoid moving or knocking the unit when it is switched on or when it has just been turned off as the lamp filaments can be damaged when hot. NOTE: Select and fit a lamp suitable for the mains power supply voltage. Only use lamps as recommended in the specifications (See reverse of user guide for specs).
