[. . . ] This setting when activated adjusts the heating elements to produce additional heat to the centre elements to cook the top of your crumpet faster than the bottom. Please ensure that you place the top of your crumpet/s into the toaster facing the centre elements. See the illustration. NOTE! The tops of the crumpet/s must always face inwards towards the middle of the toaster. The toaster always reverts back to the bread toast setting after each toasting cycle, unless the crumpet control setting is activated again. CARE AND CLEANING The crumb tray should be cleaned regularly. [. . . ] · The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision. · Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. · Always use the appliance on a dry, level surface. · Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, become knotted or touch hot surfaces. · Care must be taken not to touch any hot surfaces, do not store or cover the appliance until the unit has fully cooled down. · Always switch the power off at the outlet and then remove the plug before attempting to move the appliance, when the appliance is not being used and before cleaning. · Regularly inspect the supply cord, plug and actual appliance for any damage. If found damaged in any way, immediately cease use of the appliance and return the entire appliance to the nearest authorised Breville service centre for examination, replacement or repair. 1 NEVER ATTEMPT TO EXTRACT JAMMED TOAST, MUFFINS, BAGELS OR ANY OTHER ITEM WITH A KNIFE OR ANY OTHER OBJECT, AS CONTACT WITH LIVE ELEMENTS MAY NOT ONLY DAMAGE THE ELEMENT, BUT CAUSE ELECTROCUTION. NEVER OPERATE TOASTER ON ITS SIDE AND NEVER ADD ANY FOOD SUBSTANCE TO THE BREAD, MUFFINS, BAGELS OR CRUMPETS AS THIS CAN LEAD TO ELECTROCUTION OR FIRE. DO NOT USE THE TOASTER WITHOUT THE SLIDE OUT CRUMB TRAY IN PLACE. DO NOT ALLOW CRUMBS TO BUILD UP IN THE CRUMB TRAY. CRUMB TRAY SHOULD BE CLEANED REGULARLY. NOTE! This Breville toaster is electronically controlled and will not lock down into the toast position until the toaster is plugged into a 230/240 volt power point and switched on. KNOW YOUR BREVILLE TOASTER 1. Crumpet control setting This setting cooks crumpets to perfection. When activated this function adjusts the heating elements to produce additional heat to the centre elements to cook the top of your crumpet faster than the bottom. A small light will illuminate when activated to indicate the crumpet setting has been activated. The top of the crumpet/s must be placed into the toaster facing the centre elements. Extra wide self centring toasting slots adjust automatically to toast thick or thin bread 3. [. . . ] Press the high lift lever down until it clicks into place. Toasting cycle will automatically commence. High lift To remove smaller items such as crumpets and muffins, lift the high lift lever approximately 20mm above the starting position. NOTE! If the toaster is not plugged in and switched on at the power outlet the high lift lever will not click into place. 5. The toaster turns off when the desired toast colour is achieved and automatically raises the toast. The toasting process can be stopped at any time by pressing the CANCEL button. In the unlikely event that the bread or crumpet becomes jammed, switch the power off at the power outlet. [. . . ]
