It also provides information about trend reports, dashboard reports, and how to export reports. Chapter 8: Reports 135 Create reports One of the major features of Data Insight is the ability to generate reports and charts. Reports and charts allow you to get a quick graphical snapshot of your analysis results. Trend reports and charts allow you to track measurements over time. With either the Data Insight default reports or the trend reports you create, you can choose the display options for your charts and the reports (pie charts or bar charts) that contain them. You can print reports or export them in many different formats, including text, Microsoft Excel, and HTML. The Results window The process of creating reports begins in the Results window. This window displays the analysis results of a task or tasks you have run. You can access your report directly from this window by clicking Print Report, or you can set up the report display options by clicking Setup Report. If you want to view your report at a later time, you must select the Save Report option before you close this window. In read-only mode, results information is available; however, only the Report section of the Results window is displayed. Return data for a frequency distribution, word frequency distribution, and pattern recognitions is not displayed. Reports are not automatically saved as files on your computer. You can, however, export your reports to a file in a specific location or to an application, such as Microsoft Excel. For more information, see "Export reports" on page 160. Each time you run a task and choose to save the report, Data Insight adds a new report date and time stamp. If a report contains errors, the date and time stamp will contain an "E. " Create notes You can add, modify, or delete notes for reports at the task name level of the Reports window. You can also create notes for individual runs of a task at the date/time stamp level of the Reports window. If you want notes to appear in a report, select the Show on Report option in the Notes window. For more information, see "Notes" on page 173. Choose Reports > Show Reports Window. [. . . ] A typical application of truth data queries used to validate your addresses is during recurring data loads to assess the effect of the overall quality of new addresses brought in. You can determine on a regular scheduled basis as to whether that data needs to be cleansed or you can schedule your analysis to run immediately after the cleansing process to show you the change. Step 4: Perform a referential integrity Referential integrities preserve the defined relationships between tables when records are entered or deleted and ensure that the key values are consistent across tables. For example, consistency across tables requires that there are no references to nonexistent values, and that if a key value changes, all references to it change consistently throughout the database. If you turn off constraints before loading data, after turning the constraints back on, use a referential integrity test to verify that the new data has not violated any constraints or data rules.
