From Windows File Manager or Windows Explorer, choose your PostWare ADM folder. Choose the CD-ROM drive, and choose the Extract folder. You can use a word processor, but be sure to save the file with a file type of plain text. When you name the file, use the same base name that you will give to your custom directory and be sure to use the extension . lst For example, if you're going to extract a Texas directory, we recommend naming your file geotx. lst. Then your directory itself should be named geotx. dir. On each line, type a single ZIP Code or, to specify a range, a pair of ZIP Codes separated by a space or dash. Our software cannot assign any GeoCensus information to addresses that lie outside the area of the GeoCensus directory in use. You do not have to list the ZIP Codes or ranges in numerical order. However, you do have to type ranges from lowest to highest (for example, type 5460154603, not 54603-54601). Do not use any punctuation other than a dash between ranges. To specify an entire 3-digit ZIP Code area, add two digits at the end to make a 5digit number (for example, type 54600-54699, not 546).
