Manual abstract: user guide BUSINESS OBJECTS INTERNATIONAL ACE 7.70CJOB-FILE REFERENCE

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] International ACE Job-File Reference Version 7. 70c May 2006 Correct and standardize address data in multiline or discrete formats Assign postal codes Notices Published in the United States of America by Firstlogic, Inc. , 100 Harborview Plaza, La Crosse, Wisconsin 54601-4071. Customer Care Technical help is free for customers who are current on their ESP. When you call, have at hand the user's manual and the version number of the product you are using. Call from a location where you can operate your software while speaking on the phone. [. . . ] If the address is located in the EWS directory, International ACE marks the record as an EWS match and does not attempt further assignment. Type N to disable EWS processing Perform eLOT processing (Y/N) Enhanced Line of Travel (eLOT) takes Line of Travel one step further in the presorting process. The original line of travel (LOT) narrowed down the mail carrier's delivery route to the block face level (ZIP+4 level) by discerning whether an address resided on the odd or even side of a street or thoroughfare. eLOT narrows the mail carrier's delivery route walk sequence to the house (delivery point) level. This allows you to sort your mailings to a more precise level. Type N to disable eLOT processing. 82 International ACE Job-File Reference Perform RDI Processing The Residential Delivery Indicator (RDI) lets you determine if a given address is for a residence or a business. Type N if you do not plan to perform RDI processing. For more information on RDI processing, see "U. S. Engine: Residential Delivery Indicator (RDI)" on page 169. DPV Mode (VALIDATE/TIEBREAK/BOTH/N) Select one of the following values to enable DPV processing. For more information about DPV processing, see "U. S. Engine: Delivery Point Validation (DPV)" on page 149. Option Description Validate Tiebreak Both N To determine if addresses are valid delivery points, type Validate. To enable DPV to assist in tie-breaking during address processing, type Tiebreak. To perform DPV processing for tie-breaking and address validation, type Both. If you do not want to perform DPV processing, type N. Enable Non-Certified Features Type Y to enable non-certified features and extend the directory expiration for non-mailing purposes. Enable non-certified features in the US Non-Certified block. Type N to use the most current directory information and disable noncertified features. You may extend the directory expiration period up to 14 months from the date the directories were created. Processing with expired directory data is allowed when you are not planning to use the records for United States Postal Service (USPS) mailing purposes. This is ideal for data warehousing industries, for example. However, when you select this option, you cannot print the USPS report. Any lists created with expired directories cannot be used for postage discounts. US Processing Options 83 US Non-Certified Accept Input Postcode if SMatch (Y/N) This non-certified option enables International ACE to use the record's last four digits of the 9-digit postcode to try to make a finer level of assignment than it could make under CASS rules. Under CASS rules, International ACE doesn't consider the last four digits of the 9-digit postcode code in your database. [. . . ] International ACE searches the Address-Level GeoCoding directory for this information. Perform Address and Centroid-level GeoCoding processing. International ACE first checks to see if the address has Address-Level GeoCoding data, and if it does, International ACE returns that information. If it does not, International ACE searches the Centroid-Level GeoCoding data and returns that information. [. . . ]
