You can use any of the suite nodes in the Configuration Manager to define your module names. Only module names that are assigned a defined System Name (see page 56) will display in the drop-down list. You do not need to delete any unused module names. The Description and Type settings (see page 56) do not apply when defining modules for stand-alone Web Checkout installations. Planning Enterprise Services Installation and Administration Guide 57 3 Configuring Enterprise Services Validating the Configuration Manager Settings Validating the Configuration Manager Settings When you have completed all of the settings necessary for your system as described in this chapter, the final step is to perform a validation of these settings. To do this, perform the following steps: 1. From the menu bar, choose Validation > Validate Document. You may see a number of messages in the Validation pane. Double-click on each message to automatically navigate to the entry requiring attention. The following example shows an error message related to a missing Server Temporary File Location setting: In most cases, the Validation routine is only checking whether a required setting has been completed, and whether it is in an appropriate format. For example, it will check to make sure you have made an entry in the User directory field under a System Name, but it will not validate the existence of that User directory. Please be sure to check all your entries to make sure no typing errors occurred. When all validation errors have been resolved, select File > Save to save your settings, then File > Exit to close the Configuration Manager. Although it is possible 58 Planning Enterprise Services Installation and Administration Guide Configuring Enterprise Services Editing Configuration Manager Settings 3 to save configuration settings with errors, we highly recommend fixing all configuration errors prior to exiting the Configuration Manager. The Configuration Manager automatically performs a validation upon Save, and also when a configuration file is opened. When you are finished with the configuration steps and have validated the document, you must start Application Server. See "Stopping and Starting Application Server" on page 59. Editing Configuration Manager Settings At any time you can enter the Configuration Manager and edit your settings. New systems and access options can be added by following the steps outlined in this chapter. Existing systems and access options can be deleted by right-clicking the node name and selecting Delete. Note that if only one system is defined, the Configuration Manager will not allow you to delete that system. Be sure to Save after making any changes. If changes are made within the Configuration Manager, you need to stop and restart Application Server, as discussed in the following section. Stopping and Starting Application Server Stopping Application Server stops all Enterprise Services applications. [. . . ] It will look like the following: Figure 1-1 Default Session State Settings Update the file by adding a new attribute to the sessionState tag to look like the following: Figure 1-2 Session State Settings for Cookieless Operation Save this file and restart your web server. This new setting will now allow session state for the ASP. NET pages to be placed in the requested URL instead of in a web browser cookie. Enabling Workbooks for Use in Web Access Options For a user to be able to open a workbook in Web Forms or Web Interactive, the workbook must meet two criteria: 1. The workbook must be within the user's access rights as defined in the Plan Filter of the Security Settings of the Professional Edition. The workbook must be flagged as enabled for the particular access option from within the Professional Edition. The reason for this control is to help ensure that workbooks opened in these access options have been designed to function optimally in that environment. [. . . ]
