DVD player to the mains. Warning To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture. Caution Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified may result in hazardous radiation exposure. Caution To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove cover (or back). [. . . ] Pressing the STOP button for the first time, the player enters the pre-stop mode. In this mode, if you press the PLAY button, the player will play the disc from the stop point. Press the STOP button a second time, and the player will enter the stop mode. Pressing the STOP button when playing an MP3 disc, enters the stop mode directly. TV System Selection Set the DVD player's system according to that of your TV set using the P/N button on your remote handset. You are able to scroll between PAL, NTSC and Auto. If you have a modern multi-system TV then we suggest you set this function to AUTO. Otherwise the PAL setting is most appropriate PAL NTSC AUTO NOTES You cannot switch TV systems when the DVD player is playing a disc. TV systems are switchable when the DVD player is in STOP status or when no disc is inside the machine. The number of angles varies between DVD discs and only applies to discs recorded with different angles. Page 14 OPERATION Language Selection Press the AUDIO button. You may change the language when playing multi-language DVD discs. AUDIO 1/2: AUDIO 2/2: Subtitle Selection Press the SUBTITLE button. Each press of the SUBTITLE button will scroll through the available subtitle languages. After the language options have been cycled through the SUBTITLE OFF option will appear Volume Control Pressing VOLUME button. Press the VOLUME - button to increase volume. Password Allows you to set a new password for the player. Page 22 OPERATION MP3 / JPEG Picture CD File Playing MP3 utilises the third layer audio compression mode of the international standard MPEG with the compression ratio 12:1. Employing MP3, one disc can record 600-minutes music or 170 songs with sound quality almost as good as CD for everyday listening. JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is the most widely used picture compression and storage format today. Utilizing the high efficiency compression calculating method, JPEG compresses the original picture 15 to 20 times with excellent picture quality. 1 Status window displays the current status information. 1 2 3 4 5 6 4 Scroll Bar Window - Indicates the current file's position. 6 Information Window - Displays the current operating prompts 2 Directory window - displays the current path 3 File Window - Displays the current path's files. Playing MP3 Files When you insert an MP3 disc, the TV screen displays the operation menu as shown in Figure A. (The displayed contents vary with each disc).
