Figure 1 TV MONITOR Center Channel Plus Center Channel Plus Support CENTER CHANNEL PLUS Center Channel Plus can be placed directly beneath the TV monitor as in illustration above. In conjunction with the optional Center Channel Plus Support, it can also serve as a base for the monitor. Figure 2 2 Center Channel II Placement Center Channel II should be placed directly atop, beneath, or alongside the TV monitor as shown in Figure 3. The other speakers in the system should be placed approximately as shown in Figure 1 (consult "Getting The Most From Your Dolby Surround System" for a more detailed discussion of placing the other speakers). Connections Your center channel speaker should be connected to the center channel speaker outputs on your Dolby Digital or Dolby Surround with Pro Logic receiver or decoder/ amplifier as shown in Figure 4. Important note: All speakers should be connected in phase. The terminals on your center channel speaker and on many receivers and amplifiers are coded red (+) and black () to insure correct phase. Make sure you connect the red speaker terminals to the red receiver terminals and the black speaker terminals to the black receiver terminals. Twoconductor speaker cable is coded along one conductor with lettering, with a stripe or a beadorthe appearance of the two conductors differs, usually one copper and one silver. This allows you to easily connect the proper conductor to each terminal. RECEIVER OR DECODER/AMPLIFIER WITH DOLBY PRO LOGIC SURROUND SPEAKER CONNECTIONS FRONT L R SURROUND L R CTR IMPORTANT: Be sure all speakers are connected identically in phase as explained in the text. Center Channel II is magnetically shielded so it can be placed directly atop, alongside, or beneath the TV monitor Figure 3 3 CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKER Figure 4 Balancing Dolby Digital and Dolby Surround signal processors provide an electronic system for balancing the sonic output of the left, center, right and surround speakers. When you activate this test mode, it sends a "noise" signal briefly to each channel in succession. Simply adjust your unit's appropriate channel balancing controls until the center and surround speakers play the test sound at roughly the same output level as the left and right speakers. Once you've adjusted your system this way, it will reproduce Dolby Surround and Dolby Digital program material with the exact balance originally intended. Consult the manual of your Dolby decoder unit for complete instructions on channel balancing. Home Theater Electronic Choices Dolby Pro Logic: Dolby Digital: Set the center channel speaker size setting to "SMALL" for the Center Channel II and Center Channel Plus Set the surround mode on your receiver to Dolby Pro Logic when viewing program material encoded with "Dolby Surround®". Choose the "NORMAL" center channel mode on your processor. If the program you are viewing does not specifically state it was encoded for Dolby Surround, or if you are listening to conventional stereo recordings, be sure to switch your amplifier or receiver to a surround setting that does not use Dolby Pro Logic processing or switch the surround processing off. Cleaning The Cabinets If more than dusting is needed, the finish on your center channel speaker can be cleaned with a window or vinyl cleaning product. Avoid spraying the cleaner directly on the speaker grilles to prevent damage to them or the speaker. 4 10-Year Limited Warranty To the original purchaser, Cambridge SoundWorks, Inc. [. . . ] He or she will help you track down the problem, which could be in some other component in your system. If together you agree there is something wrong with your center channel speaker, he or she will supply you with a Return Authorization Number. [. . . ]
