Even if the Auto Rotate function is set to [On], the orientation of images downloaded to a computer will depend upon the software used to download the images. When the camera is held vertically to shoot, the Intelligent Orientation sensor judges the upper end to be "up" and the lower end to be "down". It then regulates the optimal white balance, exposure and focus for vertical photography. This function operates regardless of the on/off status of the Auto Rotate function. When the Auto Rotate function is set to [On] in shooting mode, the orientation of the camera is recorded when the shot is taken. When the Auto Rotate function is set to [On] in playback mode, images will be rotated to their correction orientation in the LCD monitor as needed when the camera's orientation is changed (only applies to images shot when the Auto Rotate function was set to [On]). 65 Shooting Creating an Image Destination (Folder) Shooting Mode Playback Mode You can create a new folder at any time and the recorded images will be automatically saved to that folder. Resetting the File Number Shooting Mode Playback Mode The images you shoot are automatically assigned file numbers. [Auto Shooting File Number Reset Function A number one higher than the last one recorded is assigned to the next image. If a memory card with recorded data is used, the 7-digit number for the last recorded folder and image is compared with the last one on the card, and the larger of the two is utilized as the basis for new images. 67 File and Folder Numbers Recorded images are assigned consecutive file numbers starting with 0001 and ranging up to 9999, while folders are assigned numbers starting with 100 and ranging up to 999.
