Vertical Wipe (WIPE ) When you start recording, the picture begins as a thin vertical line in the center of the screen which gradually expands sideways until it fills the whole of the screen. E When you end a scene, the image is wiped from both sides of the screen. Using the Full Range of Features Horizontal Wipe (WIPE ) When you start recording, the picture begins as a thin horizontal line in the center of the screen which gradually expands upwards and downwards until it fills the whole screen. When you end a scene, the image is wiped from the top and bottom of screen. Mosaic Fade (M. FADE)* Blurs the image by enlarging the size of some pixels. The image appears as increasingly large squares of color as it fades out, and smaller squares when it fades in. *Available during PLAY (VCR) mode only. 57 E Effects Sepia (SEPIA) Makes a monochrome image with a brownish tint. Art (ART) Adds a paintlike effect, called solarization, to the image. Mosaic (MOSAIC) Blurs the image by enlarging the size of some pixels. Black and White (BLK & WHT) Makes the image black and white. Using the Full Range of Features 58 Digital effects can be set with the controls on the body of the camcorder or the wireless controller. Pressing the / buttons on the wireless controller correspond to turning the selector dial up and down, and pressing the SET button corresponds to pressing the selector dial in. E MENU DIGITAL EFFECTS ON/OFF P D. EFFECTS SET ON/OFF Operating faders Sound and image fade together. When operating faders in CAMERA mode, make sure the program selector is set to Q. CAMERA , PLAY (VCR) Using the Full Range of Features Select fader 1. Press the DIGITAL EFFECTS button to open the digital effects menu. · D. EFFECT |, FADER and EFFECT appear. · FADE-T, WIPE , WIPE PLAY (VCR) mode. 2. Select the desired setting. · You return to the digital effects menu. 4. Press the DIGITAL EFFECTS button to close the menu. · The name of your selected fader flashes in the display. Press the ON/OFF button. · The name of your selection stops flashing. · Each time you press the ON/OFF button, the chosen fader is activated (display lights continuously) or deactivated (display flashes). 59 E 6.
