When the continuous advance of the hands is not stopped manually, they stop automatically after advancing by 12 hours. · During the time correction, the date does not change even if the hands pass 12:00 AM. Refer to the section on "Setting the Date" for the procedure for correcting the date. Return the crown to the normal position in synchronization with a telephone time signal or other time service. [Setting the Date] The calendar function used by this watch is based on a 31-day month. The date must be changed manually from the last day of the current month to the first day of the next month by operating the crown in months having less than 31 days. Turn the crown to switch the watch to the time/calendar [TME] mode. Pull the crown out to Position 1 (date correction position). Turn the crown to the left to set the date. (1) Turning the crown to the left causes the function hand to make four revolutions and the date to be corrected by one day. · The date is corrected one day at a time. The date will not change continuously even if the crown is turned continuously. When correcting the date by several days, first check that correction of the date by one day has been completed, and then turn the crown again to correct the date by an additional day until the date is corrected for the desired number of days. Always make sure to return the crown to the normal position after correcting the date. [When Date is not in Center of Calendar Window] When the date display has shifted from the center of the calendar window as a result of the watch having been subjected to a strong impact or other reason, properly center the date in the calendar window in the chronograph mode. Turn the crown to switch the watch to the chronograph [CHR] mode. Pressing button (A) causes the function hand and date to move slightly. · Press button (A) several times until the number of the date is located in the center of the calendar window. · After setting the date, press button (A) several times until the function hand reaches the 0 position (12:00 position). Always make sure to return the crown to the normal position after correcting. 28 29 11. Using the Chronograph The chronograph is able to measure time up to a maximum of 59 minutes 59. 95 seconds in 1/20th second unit, after which it resets to 0 seconds. Second hand (chronograph seconds) Button (A) 24 18 12 TME C -2 . 0 6 . 8 . 6 . 4 . 2 Function hand (chronograph minutes or chronograph 1/20th seconds) R L T ME A -2 A L-1 7 Button (B) [Explanation of Hands During Chronograph Measurement] When the crown is turned and the mode hand is set to the chronograph [CHR] mode, the second hand and function hand are rapidly advanced to the 0 position (12:00 position), and the watch enters the chronograph mode. · Second hand: Switches to chronograph seconds. · The second hand advances rapidly and makes one revolution only when starting at 0 seconds, after which it moves in 1 second increments to measure chronograph seconds. [. . . ] Otherwise, pressure inside the watch will increase, and parts (crystal, crown, buttons, etc. ) may come off. CAUTION: CAUTION · Do NOT operate the crown or button with wet fingers or when the watch is wet. Water may enter the watch and compromise water-resistance. · If the watch is used in seawater, rinse with fresh water afterward and wipe with a dry cloth.
