Security Code The security code prevents your cordless phone conversations from being accessed by a phone on a different line. Once the handset battery is fully charged, the handset will automatically select the code from over 65, 000 different combinations. The code is changed every time the handset is placed in the cradle. If you have trouble with placing or receiving calls, a lost security code may be the cause of the problem. When this occurs, the handset can no longer communicate with the base. The record number may not be the first one. Press the UP (L) or DOWN (M) button to go to the next record. Or select any other alphabetical list pressing 2 to 9 key. When at the end of phonebook list, press ing DOWN (M) button will show END OF LIST. Press UP (L) button to go to the last record. Press MODE key twice. The display will show PHONEBOOK for 1 second and then display the first avaiable record. Press 2 once for A and twice for B. Press # to insert # or punctuation marks. [. . . ] Users should ensure for their own protection that the electrical ground connections of the power utility, telephone lines and internal metallic water pipe system, if present, are connected together. This precaution may be particularly important in rural areas.
