W2. 1. 2 W2 Special instructions B-29 Service and Maintenance W2. 2 Cooling agent, anti-freeze agent, disposal GLC 356-C, 456-C, 556-C The coolant must be drained off if it is contaminated (it usually becomes a brownish color). It must be disposed of in accordance with national or local regulations. - It must not enter the main drainage system. - The complete cooling system must then be rinsed out with fresh tap water; i. e. filled, circulated with the aid of a pump and drained off as far as possible; if necessary use compressed air. The system must then be refilled with new cooling agent. Only use CLOOS cooling agent - Part No. 000 01 01 31 which contains anti-freeze up to -200C and also protects against corrosion. Clean cooling agent prevents erosion of the torch body and other parts of the cooling water system due to electrolytic effect ! B-30 W2 Special instructions GLC 356-C, 456-C, 556-C Options O Options The power sources GLC 356-C, 456-C and 556-C can be equipped with the following options: Plexiglass cover for the operating panel Flow switch Remote controller socket at the wire drive unit Automation interface CO2 preheater Air filter These options are described below. O1 Plexiglass cover The plexiglass cover protects the welding machine against contamination and dust. O2 Flow switch The installation of a flow switch enables the cooling fluid in the torch cooling circuit to be monitored. When the cooling water quantity is too low, the welding machine stops welding and the LED TEMP on the operating panel lights up and signals the fault. O3 Remote controller switch on the wire drive unit The following units can be connected to the remote controller socket: or ARCETTE welding torch Remote controller, Push-Pull wire drive unit TW 68-C O1 Plexiglass cover O2 Flow switch O3 Remote controller socket B-31 Options O3. 1 Remote controller GLC 356-C, 456-C, 556-C The remote controller enables the wire feed speed to be changed when welding is carried out away from the wire drive unit. The remote controller is connected at the wire drive operating panel. The potentiometer on the wire drive operating panel is switched off as soon as the remote controller has been plugged in. O3. 2 Push-Pull wire drive unit TW 68-C The working range can be considerably increased by using these easily movable intermediate units for applications such as car body manufacture, railway carriage fabrication, shipbuilding, steel construction work and bridge construction. O3. 3 ARCETTE welding torch The ARCETTE welding torch has, in addition to the trigger for welding start, a potentiometer for the wire feed speed and an additional wire drive motor. The potentiometer enables the wire speed to be changed when the arc is burning. The additional wire drive motor guarantees a reliable feed of thin or soft wires. O4 Automation interface An automation interface is used if a coupling is required between the power source and external controls (i. e. The automation interface has the following inputs and outputs: digital input External Start and digital output for Arc present. O5 CO2 preheater A gas preheater is required when using CO2 as shielding gas to prevent the gas supply line to the power source freezing. O6 Air filter Contamination of the welding machine interior can be reduced by an air filter which filters (cleans) the ambient air used for cooling.
