Use the "Device Settings" window to change the Net ID, as shown in the following figure. "QM-MD8X8 Device Settings" Window · Programming Manager The ID code specified in the SIMPL Windows program must match the Net ID of each unit. Programming Manager is the view where programmers "program" a Crestron control system by assigning signals to symbols. The symbol can be viewed by double clicking on the icon or dragging it into Detail View. A description for each signal in the symbol is described in the SIMPL Windows help file (F1). However, before attempting to upload or upgrade, it is necessary to establish communication. Establishing Communication Use Crestron Toolbox for communicating with the QM-MD8X8; refer to the Crestron Toolbox help file for details. System Mode Switching functions controlled by control system program. Press the SYS button to activate System mode. · Local Mode When in System mode, pressing input or output buttons shows source/destination information. Switching functions controlled by front panel buttons. Press LOCAL to activate Local mode (accompanying LED will flash). · Local mode may not be available if the buttons on the front panel are locked by the control system. If the buttons are locked, the LOCAL LED will rapidly flash three times and turn off. System Mode Operation-Viewing Signal Routing Viewing Source Routing Viewing Output Routing Press an input signal button to display all of the outputs that are connected to it. Press an output signal button to display the input signal that is connected. All outputs that are receiving the same input signal are also displayed.
