Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If an outside antenna is connected to the receiver, be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built up static. Section 810 of the National Electrical Code ANSI/NEFA 70 provides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding conductress, location of antenna-discharge unit, size of grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode (see figure). Cleaning - Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Lightning - For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. Safety Check - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operation condition. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fir or electric shock. 4 NEC NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE Do not apply oil or petroleum products to this product. ALARM/RADIO SELECTOR (ALARM / RADIO) HOUR SET BUTTON (HOUR) AUTO/ OFF /ON SWITCH (AUTO / OFF / ON) MINUTE SET BUTTON (MIN) 7. Slide the AUTO/OFF/ON Switch to the "ON" position. Slide the ALARM/RADIO Selector to the "RADIO" position. Slide the AM/FM Band Switch to select either the AM or FM bandwidth. Set the radio volume by rotating the Volume Dial clockwise to the desired volume level. Tune the radio to a broadcasting station using the Tuning Dial. To turn off the radio, slide the AUTO/OFF/ON Switch to the "OFF" or "AUTO" (if the alarm is set) position. Reference the "Setting the Alarm" procedures if resetting the alarm function. Note: For better reception, FM wire antenna shall be fully untied and adjusted well. This unit has a built-in antenna for AM and FM, Locate the unit where you can obtain the best reception. Setting the Time To set the hour(s): Press and hold the "TIME. SET" Button, then press the "HOUR" Set Button until the correct hour(s) is reached. [. . . ] BATTERY BACK-UP Your clock has a battery back up feature in case of power failure. A 9 volt battery (not included) is required. You must put in a battery to ensure the battery back up feature is ready in case of power failure.
