This unit can be installed in an existing finished wall but will require additional drywall finish work and extra effort so as to minimize the drywall finish work needed. Use extreme caution when installing the unit post-construction so that no one cuts into existing electric wires, gas lines, water lines or other utilities hidden by the finished wall. Serious personal injury could occur. Required Tools: 1/2" wrench Drill motor Drill bits Saw Carpenter level Procedure 1. Remove contents from carton and examine for damaged or missing parts. 2. The fastener kit listed below is available for wood stud wall construction. Determine the location of the mounting hardware and follow the directions for installation. Suggestion: a junction box will fit horizontally above the ½" conduit knockouts or vertically in the lower half of the Wall Box. 7. Place the Wall Box into the opening such that the Four Screw Studs in a row are near the top and that the back of the Wall Box is flush with the backside of the 2x4. Insert the leveling screws into the threaded holes on the bottom flange of the Wall Box. Use shims on the sides to adjust the position of the Wall Box. Use shims all around the Wall Box to fill the gap between the Wall Box and framing near the Fastening Holes. Fasten the Wall Box to the wood stud frame using 3/8" diameter lag screws (not included). Complete the wiring for the Wall Box and finish construction of the wall. FOUR SCREW STUDS B Figure 3 11.
