Inserting a Tape To insert a tape into your TV/VCR, hold it so that the windows on the tape face up, and the label of the tape faces away from the TV/VCR. Gently place the tape in the cassette compartment and push it in slowly. Once it is in the compartment part-way, the TV/VCR will pull the tape the rest of the way. You can insert a tape into your TV/VCR even when it is turned off. If the tape has its erasure prevention tab removed, the TV/VCR will turn on and begin playing the tape.
