As with any electrical appliance, whilst the instructions aim to cover as many eventualities as possible caution and common sense should be applied when operating and installing this air conditioner. · This appliance has been manufactured to cool and de-humidify domestic environments and should not be used for other purposes. · It is dangerous to alter or modify the unit's characteristics in any way. Empty tank indicator light A G H F C D L MNO E K I J BP ELECTRICAL CONNECTION Before plugging in check that: · the mains supply corresponds to the value shown on the rating plate on the rear of the unit; · the socket and the mains lead correspond to the power requirements of the appliance; · the socket is suited to the plug, otherwise have the socket replaced; · the socket is properly grounded. The manufactures cannot be held responsible for any damage due to failure in following normal safety procedures. On the display two lines will appear indicating Stand-by mode Indicator light (I) Indicator light (J) : air-conditioning : ventilation/purification AIR-CONDITIONING FUNCTION This function is ideal in hot, humid weather conditions when the atmosphere requires to be cooled and dehumidified. To ensure proper function of the appliance, after selecting the air-conditioning function, press buttons "+" (F) or "­" (G) until the desired temperature appears on the display. The temperatures most suited to the atmosphere in summer vary between 24 and 27°C. We do not advise selection of temperatures much lower than the outside temperature. Select fan speed by pressing the "FAN" button (D) until the fan speed indicator appears: MAX (L): if you want the maximum capacity of the air-conditioner to reach the desired temperature as quickly as possible. MIN (M): if you want to reduce the level of noise and still maintain a good level of comfort. SILENT (N): when minimum noise is required, AUTO (O): if you prefer the appliance to select the fan speed for the temperature selected on the display panel. 25 VENTILATION/PURIFICATION This is ideal for dusty or polluted areas; in effect, the appliance recycles and purifies the air using the dust filters and 3M FiltreteTM electrostatic filters fitted. Adjust the fan speed by pressing the "FAN" (D) button, as illustrated in the air conditioning function. Bear in mind that the higher the speed, the greater the volume of air filtered; by selecting the "Silent" speed, less air is filtered, but the noise level is low. "AUTO" function cannot be selected in this mode. The display will show the fan speed selected. "Silent" speed "Min" speed "Max" speed 25 ENGLISH Press the "ON/OFF" button (A) and then the "MODE" button (B) until the relevant function indicator appears viz. : GB-5751010600 7-04-2004 17:17 Pagina 26 Selecting the functions TURBO POWER (if featured) The Turbo Power mode was conceived to provide the appliance with a greater cooling potential. This is particularly useful when you want to bring the temperature of a very warm room quickly down to a more comfortable level. In this case: Make sure that the empty tank indicator light (P) is off. Once having reached the desired temperature, the Turbo Power button can be pressed again. In any case, the Turbo Power function has a maximum duration of 15 minutes. After this, the appliance will return to the previous operating mode. This will ensure more silent operation. EMPTY TANK INDICATOR LIGHT The empty tank indicator light (P) indicates the lack of water in the tank. When there is no water in the tank, the appliance will not cool at maximum capacity and the "TURBO POWER" function cannot be selected. [. . . ] To remove the scale from the appliance, you need: · 20 % of descaling liquid · 80 % of clean water Proceed as follows: 1) Remove the tank 6 from the appliance and drain the water remaining in the water tray 5 by using the drainage hose 11 (fig. Pour 500 ml of decalcifying liquid and 2 litres of clean water into the water tray which is found under the tank (fig. 3) Operate the air conditioner for about half an hour. 4) After this, drain out all of the liquid remaining in the water tray and rinse thoroughly.
