Remove the percolator from the base unit before filling. · Fill with fresh clean cold water up to level for the number of cups required (fig. [. . . ] We recommend using coffee ground specifically for percolators, as the coffee grounds are larger in size and will not pass through the basket during the brewing process. · The flavour of the coffee can be made weaker or stronger by simply rotating the thermostat knob between the LIGHT position (weak flavour) and the DARK (strong flavour). It is quite normal for the coffee to be cooler when the thermostat knob is in the LIGHT position, than when in the DARK position. The setting of the thermostat knob can also be changed during operation. For example, if the thermostat knob is in the DARK position, you can interrupt coffee delivery by turning the knob to the KEEP WARM position. If the thermostat knob is in the LIGHT position, you can turn the knob to the DARK position and resume operation for a further period of time until a higher temperature is obtained and the coffee has a stronger flavour. · Place the percolator on the base. The appliance starts operating when plugged into the mains socket. The indicator light (fig. Coffee preparation takes about one minute per cup.
