[. . . ] The 20mm cross head self-tapers are for securing the fire into fireplace suite (1). The 20mm flat head screws and black rubber expansion nuts are for securing into a standard fireplace either through marble or directly into a wall (2). When fitting the fire into a fireplace suite, place the fire centrally into the hole and mark off through and at the TOP of each keyhole slot where on the back panel the screws are to go in. You may either screw the self- tapers directly into the MDF back panel or use a 2. 5mm drill bit to start the hole. [. . . ] For manual illumination press the switch fully down. In the middle, the fire is completely off. The remote will not work if the fire is turned on manually. The wheel next to the on/off switch is the dimmer; you may turn this to set the light to your desired brightness. For heating the fire must be switched on. The controls for the heat are located at the bottom right hand side of the fire. These consist of an on/off switch for the fan and a thermostat. To obtain heat, press down the switch with the red bar and turn the thermostat to maximum. Once the required room temperature is achieved turn the thermostat towards minimum until you hear a click. The thermostat will then regulate the room temperature automatically. Thermostat information: There can be up to a 5 or 6 degrees drop or rise in temperature for the thermostat to activate or deactivate. The temperature is taken from around the fire, unlike a room thermostat that is usually positioned on a wall in the middle of a room. Other situations such as room size or position of fireplace i. e. near a working radiator might cause the thermostat not to work efficiently. Page 1 of 2 Automatic safety cut out The heater is fitted with an automatic cut out to prevent any damage due to overheating. The heater will automatically cut out if the airflow is obstructed. To reset the fire, switch the fire off, remove the cause of overheating and allowed to cool for a suitable period then switch the fire back on. MAINTENANCE Before any maintenance/cleaning is undertaken always disconnect the fire from the mains power supply. Replacing light bulbs Your fire uses clear 40watt bayonet light bulbs for the flame effect illumination. Replacements are available from good lighting/hardware or large DIY stores. To change the flame effect bulbs allow a suitable time for the bulbs to cool. Open the front door (as described in Controls) remove then replace the blown light bulb and close the door. Please note that replacement bulbs are not covered by the guarantee of the product. [. . . ] Check fire is in remote standby mode (see controls). Make sure the grey frequency dial on the handset is set to J First see note on operating the fire. When turning the thermostat to minimum you will hear a click.
