As a reminder of the need to dispose of household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (UK ONLY) A) If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13 Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below. WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard. With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must be protected by a 15 Amp fuse. WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED IMPORTANT E The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: L B) If the plug is a moulded-on type, the fuse cover must be refitted when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS 1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug. If your appliance is not fitted with a plug, please follow the instructions provided below: Green and yellow: Blue: Brown: Earth Neutral Live N As the colours of the wires in the mains lead may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The green and yellow wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug marked with the letter E or the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. The blue wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or coloured black. The brown wire must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter L or coloured red. 18 Preparing the appliance for dry or liquid vacuuming. Release the catch (10) under the handle of the appliance and open the front cover. Remove the liquids/solids collection drum by pressing the catch and lifting the tank by the handle (6). NB: To use the appliance as a wet vacuum cleaner, you do not need to fill the drum with water. 19 24 Fit the hose (25) onto the appliance. Insert the bayonet coupling (24) into the socket on the cover (1), press down and rotate clockwise as far as it will go. Open the safety hatch (13) and insert the plug (23) into the socket (12) on the bottom of the appliance, making sure the arrow points upwards. Push down until it locks into place. 23 To remove, press the locking fins at the side and pull. A Insert the extension tube (26) onto the hose handgrip, making sure the handgrip coupling is perfectly connected to the extension tube coupling by pushing firmly together. Lock in place by rotating the locking ring (A). To make sure it is fitted correctly, attempt to remove the extension tube. To insert the second extension tube or brush, proceed as described above. Plug into the mains socket and press the ON/OFF button (14). Power to the appliance is now on. 20 To turn the vacuum function on, press the suction ON/OFF button (21) on the hose handgrip.
