[. . . ] data. 35 ENGLISH 14 TROUBLESHOOTING Check the following before assuming there is a problem with the set. 2 Are connections proper?2 Are you operating as described in these operating instructions?2 Be sure to check that the main power switch on the rear panel is turned on. If the set does not seem to be operating properly, check the items listed on the table below. If the cause of the problem cannot be found, the set may be malfunctioning. Immediately turn off the power and unplug the power cord, then contact your store of purchase or your nearest DENON dealer. Symptom Common Sections There is no power. Cause · The power plug is disconnected from the outlet. · Batteries are not properly inserted. · Direction of the antenna is not appropriate. · Signals of the broadcast station are weak. · Noise is coming from a TV, etc. · Interference sound of a broadcast station can be heard. Measure · Insert the power plug into the outlet. Page 6 · Set the volume to a suitable level. · Reinsert the batteries properly. · Change the direction of the antenna. 20 8 11 11 7 There is sound of noise on the FM broadcast. Tuner Section There is interference on the AM broadcast. · Turn off the TV. · Change the direction of the AM loop antenna. · Try reversing the orientation of the power plug and reinserting it. ­ 7 7 ­ There is a hum on the AM broadcast. · Radio signals being carried on the power cable are being modulated by the power line frequency. · The CD has been mistakenly inserted in reverse orientation. · The CD is scratched. · Reinsert the CD correctly. · Replace the CD with one that is not scratched. 14 34 ­ Pressing the operation buttons does not result in operation.
