Select Disabled if you want to add a different hard drive controller. IDE Prefetch Mode This allows data and addresses to be stored in the internal buffer of the chip, thus reducing access time. Enable this field to achieve better performance. IDE Primary Master/Slave PIO and IDE Secondary Master/Slave PIO PIO means Programmed Input/Output. Rather than have the BIOS issue a series of commands to effect a transfer to or from the disk drive, PIO allows the BIOS to tell the controller what it wants and 53 3 Award BIOS Setup Utility then let the controller and the CPU perform the complete task by themselves. However, if your hard drive has a large capacity, it will take a longer time to format. Parallel Port The parallel printer doesnt respond when you try to print.
