Fill the reservoir to the maximum level. Remove the anti-scale cartridge from the bag 7. [. . . ] Refilling whilst ironing You can fill the reservoir during ironing. It is not necessary to switch off or unplug your ironing centre when refilling. € Remove the anti-scale cartridge from the water tank and fill it. Remove the anti-scale cartridge from the bag. Insert the cartridge as shown, lining up the tube with the mark on the reservoir. Turn the cartridge to the right as far as it will go. Replace the reservoir by pushing it right into its housing. To obtain steam, the anti-scale cartridge must be inserted into the water tank. 500478517_Brochure_CX30 2/09/08 13:36 Page 25 THERMOSTAT ADJUSTMENT • We recommend that you iron articles in the order indicated on the iron's thermostat dial so that the temperature gradually increases. Adjust the thermostat of the iron according to the fabric. € To use steam please ensure that the thermostat dial is set within the 2 and 3 dot settings. Adjust the steam output to suit the type of material being ironed. The volume of steam increases gradually as you turn the control knob towards the maximum. € At maximum setting, there is an initial burst of steam lasting for several seconds. The steam output will then return to the normal rate. To repeat this process, wait for a few seconds to avoid any risk of spotting. Never call for steam when there is no water in the reservoir. Please note • Because of the high steam output rate, there is no need to continuously press the steam button. Pressing the button briefly and frequently will enable you to control the quantity of steam, in order to obtain professional results. It also prolongs the life of your anti-scale cartridge. € If the iron is used intensively, steam may continue to be produced after the steam button has been released and water may appear on the iron holder. There is no risk of the metal being damaged.
