Radio Aligning the antenna When using the longwire antenna for FM reception: 1. Determine the best position of the longwire antenna by testing for best possible reception. Radio / select band (AM/FM) Activate sleep function [ » SLEEP « ] The sleep function can only be activated if the device is in stand-by mode (see , , Switching on and off", page 10). It is possible to set a time between 90 and 10 minutes after which the system will switch itself off. The sleep function can only be activated by remote control. Briefly press SLEEP d for the system to switch off after 90 minutes. Press SLEEP repeatedly to set a shorter period. With every touch of the button the time is reduced by 10 minutes. To deactivate the sleep function press SLEEP until the display W no longer indicates SLEEP. Use TUNER/BAND Rb to select radio operation. Press TUNER/BAND again to switch between FM and AM. Automatic search / manual search During auto-search the frequency is increased or decreased until a broadcasting station with sufficient reception has been located. Manual search can be used for fine-tuning or if the frequency of the requested broadcasting station is known to you. ­ the search scan starts und stops automatically.
